
Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Jump Starts New Year
Board of Directors Builds on 2009 Successes With Five New Members
GREENWICH, CT, January 28, 2010 – The Greenwich Chamber of Commerce is making a fresh start in 2010 with the election of five new local business leaders to its board of directors. The 24-member team had their first 2010 meeting on Tuesday, January 26 to discuss upcoming initiatives intended to help the Greenwich business community prosper.
The Greenwich Chamber of Commerce’s primary mission is to promote the well-being of the entire Greenwich business community while maintaining the town's residential integrity and enhancing its quality of life. In 2010, its new and returning board members plan to further this mission with several initiatives, including the continuation of its successful annual events and support of Greenwich Initiative for Tomorrow (G.I.F.T.). Returning events include: the Business & Culinary Showcase in May; Greenwich Sidewalk Sale Days in July; and Greenwich Has Talent: Variety Show 2010 in the fall.
“As vested members of the Greenwich business community, the chamber’s board of directors is looking forward to expanding on and increasing new opportunities in 2010,” commented Frank McBrearity, Jr, managing partner, Corporate Executive Offices, and new board of director member, Greenwich Chamber of Commerce. “This is an exciting time to be a new board member as we are all expecting a positive growth year for local businesses. As a board, we will be steadfast in continually improving upon our existing efforts while putting new programs in place that will help promote and sustain growth.”
The five local business people newly elected to the board of directors for a three-year term, include: Ron Arbusman of Jewels by Viggi; Alyssa Keleshian Bonomo of K Investments, Inc.; Nico Hogeveen of Terma-Praxis, LLP; Frank McBrearity, Jr. of Corporate Executive Offices; and Karen Morstad of Karen Morstad & Associates.
“I look forward to working with the new board of director members as chairman,” commented Paul Mercado of Rand Insurance, and chairman of the board, Greenwich Chamber of Commerce. “It’s great to be working with such a committed group of local business leaders to further the chamber’s initiatives in 2010.”
In addition, the following directors were re-elected to the board: Richard "Kim" Bruce of The First Bank of Greenwich; Mark Curtis of Splash Car Wash; Marshall H. Heaven of M. H.
